Headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, Sentera builds specialized software, analytics, cameras and drones that capture and integrate in-field data insights and images with digital ag platforms. Agronomists, researchers, growers, seed retailers and supply chain managers use insights from our products to improve the precision, efficiency, and sustainability of their businesses.Sentera is seeking a Production Engineering Intern to join our team during the Summer growing season. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge, interest and experience in the fields of Engineering to apply these skills towards aiding in the production, development, testing, maintenance, inventory and repair of small unmanned aircraft for use in agricultural and mapping applications.
Requirements
Duties of this Role
- Report to Production and Fulfillment Manager
- Create and follow test and repair plans
- Repair small unmanned aircrafts, specifically Sentera's PHX (fixed-wing drone)
- Occasional programming, focusing of cameras and assembly work
- Travel to rural locations for flight tests
Qualifications Needed
- Pursuing Bachelor of Science in Engineering or applicable technical field
- Valid drivers license
- Part 107 Certified Small Unmanned Aircraft Pilot certification or ability and understanding requirement to obtain certification within the first week of employment. Sentera will cover the cost of the certification if needed.
Preferred Skills
- Strong computer and technical skills
- 3D and 2D CAD experience, PTC Creo preferred
- Electrical soldering and wiring
- Working knowledge of electronic systems and sensors typical to small UAVs
- RC airplane or UAV operating experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Customer service oriented
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Maintain confidentiality of company information and data
- Ability to work within in a team or independently, with a can-do attitude, and willing to work until the job gets done
Details
- Travel: Yes, not to exceed 50%; Flight tests will be done outdoors and in rural settings.
- Worksite location: Main Office in St. Paul, MN
- FLSA and Job Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
- Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
