Meta AI’s mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in artificial intelligence through fundamental and applied research in open collaboration with the community. Our work covers the full spectrum of topics related to AI, including deriving knowledge from data: theory, algorithms, applications, software infrastructure and hardware infrastructure. We actively engage with the community through publications, open source software, participation in technical conferences and workshops, and collaborations with academia.The person in this role will lead strategy and end-to-end operations of the AI org’s global Rotational AI Science & Engineering (RAISE) program. The Program Manager will own and refine the vision for RAISE, as well as maintain and scale the program through unprecedented growth in 2022 in several locations. The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable leading talent programs and has strong communication skills, stakeholder management expertise at all levels, experience managing complex logistics, and an organized approach.Rotational AI Science & Engineering (RAISE) is a rotational program Meta launched in 2021 with its first cohort. The program is designed for engineers with industry experience who would like to break into AI but lack prior AI exposure or training. Program participants, known as ‘RAISErs’, are full-time software engineers who join world-class research and engineering teams working on a breadth of cutting edge artificial intelligence rotation projects. Through meaningful rotations, a supportive cohort, and high-quality mentorship, RAISE provides participants a hands-on foundation for a successful career in AI.
Program Manager, AI Rotational Programs Responsibilities:
- Strategy: Direct Meta’s Rotational AI Science & Engineering (RAISE) program from initiation through delivery, ensuring program objectives align with organizational goals. Define clear program roadmaps, provide frequent program updates, identify and communicate risks and adjustments, and ensure commitments are delivered
- Program Operations: Design and develop best-in-class programming including team matching, onboarding, ongoing learning, rotation process and assignments, personal and professional development, and graduation
- Community: Curate and design experiences that enable engagement and community building within the cohort, as well as networking opportunities that foster belonging within Meta AI. Promote diversity of thought and ensure inclusion is built into all programming and processes
- Growth: Partner closely with sourcing, recruiting, and hiring managers to evangelize the program internally and externally. Increase brand awareness and attract potential candidates. Maintain ongoing program evaluation and adaptation with an eye on growing, scaling and creating exceptional experiences that meet the ongoing needs of Meta AI and program participants
- Talent Development: Provide ongoing coaching, development, and mentoring opportunities to the participants. Design and deliver a curriculum that complements participants’ rotation projects with the right skills and competencies
- Collaboration: Proactively partner with internal stakeholders such as AI leadership, RAISE cohort, RAISE managers, and the program’s Steering Committee. Create clear communication channels for feedback and program communication and deliverables
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years experience as a program or project manager, or similar role
- 6+ years of experience establishing and growing end-to-end, cross-functional programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in talent development, learning & development, or related experience creating, delivering, and measuring high-impact learning
- Experience with diversity and inclusion demonstrated by advocacy or Allyship roles or outside work
- Experience in the Technology industry, especially with research and/or AI/ML
- Experience managing competing priorities while adapting and improvising in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience building relationships and collaborating with global, cross-functional stakeholders
