As a Technology intern, you will gain professional experience, contribute to team goals, and deliver projects and technology solutions. You will gain a broad understanding of the Ameriprise Technology organization and ability to contribute to modern technology solutions and processes.

Based on business need and chosen candidate interest, possible team assignments may include the following areas:

  • Architecture

  • Business and Data Analytics

  • Client Technology Experience

  • AWS/Cloud Engineering

  • Front end/back-end development

  • Information Security

  • Technology Infrastructure and Operations

  • Software development/programming

About The Internship Program

Our 11-week summer intern program provides experience in a collaborative and inclusive environment. As an Ameriprise Financial intern, you will gain exposure to leaders, cultivate your business intuition, work on projects that directly impact the business, and network in a welcoming atmosphere. In addition, you will have access to our Business Resource Networks, including the Black Employee Network, Young Professionals Network, PRIDE Network, and others!

Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary depending on assigned projects(s) and may include:

  • Defining business requirements

  • Developing user acceptance test plans

  • Developing SOW and cost-benefit analysis

  • Developing documents, test and modify new or existing code

  • Develop working knowledge of systems and processes

  • Learning new programming languages

  • Process automation

Examples Of Past Intern Projects Include

  • AWS Relationship Model Proof of Concept

  • Automation of server start-up/shutdown and testing

  • Build React web-app to test services

  • Create dashboard reporting using PowerBI

  • Create new intake and tracking system

  • Data Lake and Data Analysis

  • Deployment of Microsoft Teams & Edge

  • IBM Watson Discovery Search integration

  • SharePoint development

Required Qualifications

  • Current Junior at a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Information Science, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • Graduation date of December 2023 or May/June 2024

  • Interested in gaining broad experience in Technology

  • Demonstrated leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work and communicate collaboratively with others

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Previous work experience in Technology preferred

  • Experience in development/programming/coding

  • Demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn and apply new tools and processes

  • First level knowledge and/or demonstrated technical ability to understand code and technology infrastructure in multiple environments

The company does not offer corporate undergraduate internships for students with F-1 visas.
