JOB SUMMARY:

Provides technical support for the marketing and branding of Clemson University through the use of web technologies and other electronic communication mediums. Develop, test, deploy, and support high profile websites and web applications within a Content Management System with a focus on usability and accessibility. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

40% - Essential - Web Development: Manages and updates website content related to the support-level and administrative sites. Develop websites and web applications using up-to-date HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP, SEO and accessibility best practices for use within approved templates and/or designs. Ensures new sites are scalable and responsive. Provide basic direction for content categorization to help with site architecture for department-level site following SEO, accessibility, and UX best practices.

30% - Essential - Web Technical Support: Troubleshoot HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PHP & other technical issues related to web systems leading to resolution. Provide assistance to University web content managers through ticketing systems and web project management systems. Provide assistance to University web developers in issues related to the Content Management System and the conversion to the redesign templates. Assists with general web concerns and issues submitted through ticketing systems.

25% - Essential - Web Programming: Collaborate in the development/maintenance of web interface applications. Work w/ University Relations staff/clients to code/test web/interactive interface elements. Use PHP/My SQL & JavaScript to develop programs/scripts for strategic university projects & their supporting pages, including enhancements to assist in the branding efforts. Creates documentation on usage of components.

5% - Essential - Innovation & Professional Development: Engages in development opportunities leading to personal development, professional growth and innovation in web development and related technologies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree in communications, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Work Experience - 2+ Years (4+ years if no degree in related field)

Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and WordPress 5.0 or newer.
