The Opportunity
OpenText is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to be a key member of the global El Dorado Architecture team. El Dorado is new and leading service/business integration platform which will serve to unify selling, provisioning, management and billing (full lifecycle orchestration) of all OpenText Small and Medium Business Products. As a Software Engineer you will work as part of a project team and may interact with the business, Architects, Product Owners, and other developers on the team to define the ideal architectural approach. The Software Engineer collaborates with the team in the design of components, and will participate fully in the software development lifecycle. This is a rare opportunity to participate from the earliest stages of development of a cloud native, hyperscaler-enabled, API-driven and Responsive Web business enablement infrastructure that will ultimately be a market conduit for hundreds of diverse products and marshal billions of dollars of business for OpenText partners and customers. Due to the diversity and scale of integration requirements, applied technologies will span Linux/Windows/Azure/Amazon environments. Candidate subsystem technologies, will include React, Angular, Kubernetes/containers, IPaaS, MongoDB, Redis, Postgresql, Elasticsearch, API Gateway Micro Frontend and many other contemporary software enablers.

You Are Great At

  • Work as a key contributor within a self-managed, self-organized, diverse team

  • Deliver customer value by translating business requirements into technologies, iterative deliveries and outcomes that exceed expectations.

  • Designing the cloud environment with cloud security principles and data integrity throughout the system

  • Participate in high-level design discussions

  • Participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software

  • Diagnose and resolve software problems in all environments

What It Takes

  • 4+ years of software development experience

  • Strong Object-Oriented design skills

    • C#/.Net, Java, C++, or a comparable OO language

  • Personal and professional integrity

  • Strong planning, analysis, and problem-solving skills

  • Comfort with Software Development Life Cycles, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.

  • Experience developing multithreaded, scalable, high-performance applications and services

  • Familiar with cloud-based software systems

  • Familiar with CI/CD Pipelines publishing Docker containers

  • Very strong communication skills
