The Amazon Apprenticeship is designed to provide a pathway into the tech industry for aspiring engineers with non-traditional backgrounds. We’re hiring Fullstack Java engineering apprentices to work with Amazon’s team of talented engineers. Apprentices will work closely with product managers, service developers, and other cross-functional partners. The Fullstack Java Engineering apprentices will join the FinTech team to build high-performance, globally scalable financial systems that support Amazon's current and future growth. This team builds technology solutions and services that enable Amazon’s new business growth through automation and self-service, while ensuring controllership, compliance with laws and regulations, security, reliability, and scalability. Apprentices will join teams of people who respect their team-mates and collaborate to build great products together. The hiring teams are diverse, inclusive and prioritize collaborative work while being sensitive to diversity.

 

What You'll Be Working On

• Contribute to Amazon application feature development, product design, and implementation discussions.• Use programming languages like Java, Python, Node or Typescript in the definition and implementation of APIs and other interfaces that Amazon customers will leverage.• Find and build unique solutions to implement projects from the idea phase to production.• Leverage your insights, ideas, and perspectives by participating in technical and architectural design and research discussions.• Learn and grow as a fullstack engineer using methodologies and best practices such as unit/integration testing, refactoring, and code reviews.• Add features and functionality to existing Amazon Java services.• Work on applications or systems that help drive financial close for Amazon.• Solve problems for diverse use-case under the mentorship of senior engineers and business stakeholders.• Implement solutions using the latest AWS Technologies like Lambda, ECS , API Gateway and more.• Enhance Amazon UI tools using React / Redux technologies.• Learn to deliver distributed systems based on AWS components. These systems will be delivered as microservices that facilitate our financial operations.
