Blackstone BXTI MINT Program Overview:

The Pre-MBA Blackstone Military Internship Program is designed to provide transitioning veterans an opportunity for exposure to the technical arm of a financial services industry before matriculating at a full-time Undergraduate or Postgraduate Engineering or an MBA program in the fall of 2022. The internship will include ~1 week of financial training and ~10 weeks of on-the-job experience. The long-term goal of the program is to provide mentoring and assistance to participants in obtaining full-time positions in the civilian world, whether at Blackstone, another financial-services firm or one of our portfolio companies, post-graduation.

Job Description:

During the 10-week program, Military interns will be able to explore technical career paths within the financial services industry, while acquainting themselves with financial markets and products, gaining applied work experience/skills and cultivating and expanding their professional networks. Interns will have the opportunity to meet with senior personnel at Blackstone as well as other military veterans working at Blackstone who have made the transition into financial services.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities will vary depending on the business unit that veterans are placed into, however the intern's work will encompass some or all of the following responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Operations
Providing software solutions for Investment valuations and return projections
Providing software solutions for Data Science based Market research
Developing presentations
Assisting teams with Agile Scrum practices to improve the Software development life cycle at BXTI
Analyzing business operations and assisting with Program Management responsibilities.
Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, mature and intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. A basic familiarity with information technology, cybersecurity, and project management is preferred, however no prior experience in investing is required. To ensure a successful internship experience, candidates who are selected for the internship will be given access to materials intended to expose them to the fundamentals of software development, technical support, and cybersecurity in a financial services endeavor.

The successful candidate should have:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A strong technical background with a fundamental understanding of object-oriented programming
A demonstrated ability to write effectively
A desire to work in a team environment, often under pressure

Demonstrated interest in global financial markets
Aspiration to work with emerging technology to solve technical and strategic goals
To be considered for the 2022 Blackstone BXTI MINT program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Matriculating at a full-time Undergraduate or Postgraduate Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or MBA program in the fall of 2022; candidates in the first or second year of an Undergraduate program will also be considered
Served at least 4 years in the United States Armed Forces with an honorable or anticipated honorable discharge
Resume must include expected graduation month/year (from academic program), undergraduate GPA (for Postgraduate Applicants) and graduate-level standardized test scores (e.g. GMAT, GRE, LSAT etc.) for Postgraduate Applicants or (SAT, ACT) scores for Undergraduate applicants
