AWS Solution Engineer Intern

KBR, in support of the Landsat mission at EROS, is seeking intern candidates to work on projects utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS). Candidate must have completed courses in design, architecture and development of software solutions. Candidate should have working knowledge of cloud infrastructures. Candidate will support Federal Government clients in their cloud operations to enhance, optimize, and maintain their computing capabilities across their technical landscape. The successful candidate will be joining a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment where they will be a key player with technical development responsibilities. A candidate for this position will be a self-starter who values their work and that of their team members.    Candidate must be clearable for a position of Public Trust

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Design and deploy dynamically scalable, highly available, highly reliable and fault-tolerant systems on AWS

  • Select appropriate AWS services to design and deploy an application based on the business requirements

  • Perform code development for assigned tasks

  • Participate in software development processes with quality assurance, version control and build processes

  • Ensure proper process is followed and documentation is properly maintained

  • Work with management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within areas of responsibility

  • Occasional travel may be required

Basic Qualifications

  • Working towards degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • Understanding of design and implementation of micro-services architecture

  • Knowledge and experience with Linux operation systems

  • High proficiency in written and oral communications

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of cloud reference architectures

  • Experience with AWS preferred

  • Java or C++

  • Python
