Futurex is seeking talented individuals with a passion for developing innovative, software-based solutions for the role of CS/Engineering Intern at Futurex’s Engineering Campus in Bulverde, 15 miles north of San Antonio, Texas. This internship is designed to provide students with real-world experience and knowledge of the Futurex solutions suite with the goal of creating a full-time career opportunity upon graduation.
In this position, an intern will work to develop, code, and test automated scripts to contribute to advance quality assurance testing within Futurex. The qualified candidate must be willing to work under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The candidate must have superior problem-solving skills which allow for quick and independently-found solutions.
Qualified candidates possess the ability to code, test, and debug software; to interpret technical information relating to software development; and to communicate effectively across various teams. The position involves independent development of code, application to real world testing suites, and documentation of methods and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and extend automated tests for Futurex’s line of applications and/or cryptographic devices to optimize quality assurance testing
  • Confer with team members to develop, understand, and update requirements for product features
  • Maintain documentation of tests designed and coding structures
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to information being processed, stored, or accessed

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in computer science or engineering
  • Software development experience in C and/or C++
  • Motivated, self-starting, and eager to learn

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with scripting (Python, Perl, or Bash)
  • SQL experience and basic understanding of relational databases
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with version control software
