As our firm grows, we are looking for a Part-Time Information Technology (IT) Intern or Entry-Level Developer to help build out our technology footprint. We are looking for an Intern (Junior or Senior Year) or an Entry-Level Developer that has a passion for and demonstrated minimal programming skills in software development. This will be a remote position.

The focus to start will be building out Hagerty's IT cloud API infrastructure from the ground floor

  • The responsibilities of the IT Intern or Entry-Level Developer include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist in researching and determining API cloud platforms to utilize to integrate our current and future platforms and environments.
  • Design/develop/build/test APIs to integrate our growing cloud (vendor) platforms.
  • Build/execute test plans.
  • Build software that is secure based on security best practices.
  • Automate builds and testing where appropriate.
  • Create documentation as needed (process flows, architecture, procedures, etc.).
  • Build out logging and auditing.
  • Serve as backup for help desk/admin duties as needed.

Candidates for Part-Time IT Intern or Entry-Level Developer must possess the following qualifications:

  • Understand programming constructs and how/when to use them.
  • Be familiar with working with at least one IDE, postman, etc.
  • Possess knowledge of at least one programming language - ideally Javascript or other API back-end language.
  • Be familiar with Azure or AWS.
  • Have experience with SQL or exposure to any relational database.
  • Have the ability to think in scale, batches, sets.
  • Be curious and a quick tech study; be open to learning new things.
  • Possess a willingness to learn and work utilizing agile practices.
  • Be willing and flexible to learn new technologies.
  • Candidates must be in pursuit of or a recent graduate of a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a focus and aptitude on software development (APIs, backend).
