 We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Engineering team in Bengaluru, reporting to the manager of Software Engineering. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment to help generate ideas and quickly turn them into robust, well-tested, functioning code. You will play a key role in developing best practices in software design, implementation, and coding standards and produce exemplary code while delivering completed projects in the time promised. You will also work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Architecture, and Support teams to troubleshoot production issues and make design and architecture decisions.

You are the ideal candidate if you pick up new technology quickly, have excellent interpersonal skills and friendly demeanor, and are proactive, open, and hands-on.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop architecture and design specifications for core features and components of the Infoblox’s Network Compliance and Change Management (NCCM) Platforms called NetMRI & Network Insights (NI)
  • Troubleshoot complex customer scenarios and optimize core features and details, including device discovery, basic SNMP troubleshooting, resource scheduling, implementation, and performance tuning
  • Debug the root cause of assigned software defects and implement permanent, reliable, and timely fixes in production code
  • Improve the company's abilities to support the product by developing new support tools and enhancements to support processes and the product itself
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to provide feedback on customer experience and suggest product improvements
  • Improve product quality with inputs to QA to create and enhance system and performance test plans based on the types of issues raised in the field

What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in a software development role with demonstrated experience in the design and development of Network Management Software (especially in the NCCM area)
  • Excellent programming skills in Object oriented design development skills in Python / PERL
  • Excellent UI design, development skills in Java, Java-UI (Apache wicket framework), JavaScript / ExtJS, JQuery, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience in writing optimized SQL queries, especially for MySQL
  • Cloud (AWS) experience an added advantage
  • Domain knowledge in enterprise networking (TCP/IP, SNMP, routing, and switching) preferred
  • System administrator-level experience with Unix (Linux strongly preferred)
  • Drive to produce the best results for our customers
  • Structured and analytical troubleshooting skills applicable to many domains
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree in CS, CE, EE, or equivalent preferred

What success looks like:

After six months, you will…

  • Understand the end-to-end application flow, automation framework, approach, and execution environment to provide the necessary production support, deliver the business requirements, and bring stability to the application
  • Handle customer issues, resolution and RFE understanding

After About a Year, You Will…

  • Identify and address the root cause of the defects, proactively addressing some of the issues in the applications with automation or re-use, which in turn would take care of re-occurring defects and give you additional bandwidth to focus on more development activities
  • Register and complete training and certifications to help you address application needs and for career growth
  • Lead product development work along with effort estimates and planning releases
