With this position we offer:
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be part of the Nasdaq Boardvantage Technical Team where you will be dedicated to a customer. The main objective for the development team in Bangalore is to build state of the art governance software for Boards and Leadership teams. As our new member, you will work with a group of enthusiastic and experienced team members. Together with your team, you will be responsible for the existing Board and leadership system support used as a part of productive and administrative processes. The main target is to continuously increase their effectiveness. We currently have scalable and fully redundant environment for handling systems support 24/7. With your help we'll take our technical infrastructure to the next level. Duties will include Manage customer expectations, support, maintain and deploy team-supported infrastructure and documentation for troubleshooting with vendor support. You will work closely with our team of Engineers in Nasdaq offices across the globe and understand the new product updates and deliverables for customers.

Your role and responsibilities:
As a Java Production Support Specialist, your focus will be developing and implementing software solutions. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Bangalore, you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.

  • Be proactive with client’s problems and you will be a key person to identify and troubleshoot issues of minor and critical levels. You may be required to make minor code changes to enhance or troubleshoot issues in customer environments.
  • Propose hardware configuration to meet customer requirements, ensuring they are technically viable and add value to the overall proposal.

  • Communicate with internal teams including development, service and success teams to ensure effective delivery of product.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a Project Management role.
  • Advanced understanding of IT/Networking concepts including Microsoft & Linux Operating systems, understanding of High Availability configuration for software for desired scalability.
  • Provide after-hours/weekend/Holiday support as needed.

We expect you to have

  • Strong experience of 6 - 8 years in Application Production Support.
  • Development background in Java language.
  • Strong MySQL (or an RDBMS) knowledge, including backup, replication and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in Linux/Unix server application based troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Docker container deployments.
  • Exposure to atleast one of the container technologies, orchestrators, Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm Mode is highly desirable
  • Prior Project Management / Client Handling experience.
  • Understanding of IP networking, Firewall management, VPN configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in Saudi Arabia for an extended period of time.
  • Good Technical/workflow analysis skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent writing skills in order to effectively create or revise policies and procedures; able to clearly and concisely summarize issues and communicate verbally and via email, memo or guideline.
  • Good time management.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

It would be great if you have:

  • Comp TIA A+, Network+, MCSE+ CISSP, MCP, VCP-DCV, VCP-DTM, MCSA, Red Hat, Sun, or equivalent certifications are a plus
  • Experience with scripting and automating cloud-based build pipelines
  • Couple of years of HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular JS experience
