PSEG is seeking an intern for the Gas Construction Team. This position will be in Clifton NJ, and be in-person (subject to change based on safety guidelines)

The Gas Construction department is responsible for the planning and execution of large scale capital gas infrastructure upgrade projects as part of Gas System Modernization Program, as well as other programs of work. The team is responsible for work planning, resource allocation, municipal/county/state permitting, contractor management, mobile crew and service mechanic oversight, completion of all required documentation, etc. The technical intern will provide support of the construction and project management day to day activities as well as learn various aspects the Gas Construction business.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidates will primarily aid the Construction Manager(s) and Project Manager(s) in the day to day operation of Gas Construction's field operations.

 

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

- Reading construction drawings

- Reviewing / auditing construction documentation such as completion records, bid and dailies etc.

- Analyzing construction documentation / data and preparing weekly status reports

- Visits to job sites

- Assist with process improvement

- Assist with restoration processes

- Coordinate resources with contractors, districts etc.

- Assist with the monthly forecasting process

 

Job Specific Qualifications

The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management. Candidates must have completed freshman level course work for consideration. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Because this position will require driving to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and clean driving history is required

Preferred Skills: 3.0 GPA, All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer period for the full 10-12 week period. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students able to commute to the assigned work location as needed. Housing, transportation, immigration Support will not be provided in association with these positions
