Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in rural Iuka, MS. The assignment may include one or more projects including hand layup, fiber placement, assembly, machining, painting, and structural testing of composite parts. Iuka currently produces structures for Atlas, Antares, F-35 and other high end related parts. Some of our work requires Secret Clearance. Our Iuka facility employs about 200 people across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Support Services. The work we do impacts our national security and supports human space exploration. Responsibilities Include The Following
- Support manufacturing of composite structures
- Resolve production issues in processes by working closely with manufacturing personnel
- Support root cause and corrective action
- Develop programming for hand layup (Fibersim, pattern files, laser files), automated fiber placement, CNC machining centers
- Be part of an Integrated Product Team

This position is for a day shift (Monday to Friday), and may require off hour support. Travel is estimated to be less than 10% and within the US, typically to support our customers. This position may be filled at an Associate Engineer or Engineer level depending on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications
Associate Engineer
- Bachelors degree. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of CAD software packages
- Knowledge of CNC machine programming
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and Special Program Access
Engineer
- Bachelors and 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a Masters degree. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with CAD software packages
- Experience with CNC machine programming
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity of composite manufacturing techniques
- Experience with Catia V5 and NX
- Programming Siemens 840D SL
Salary Range: $55,800 USD - $83,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $67,400 USD - $101,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
