Position Overview

Sports Illustrated is looking for a curious and creative Podcasts Intern to assist with all aspects of SI's podcast creation. The Podcasts Intern will work with the rest of the audio production team to record and edit weekly podcasts across several major sports, as well as develop and produce narrative podcast stories and segments. We are looking for an ear for great audio, and a passion for great sports storytelling. Applicants should include a link to an audio sample that makes clear why you are excited to have an internship with Sports Illustrated.


  • Work with SI’s podcast production teams to pitch, produce and edit podcast segments or episodes.

  • Work with SI journalists and external talent during production meetings and recording sessions.

  • Perform basic content management, including publishing podcasts and editing social cuts

  • Assist SI's narrative production team, including with pre-production and interview prep

  • Publish articles created around podcast episodes

  • Clean up transcripts of interviews and episode excerpts


  • Basic proficiency in Adobe Audition

  • Strong sports knowledge

  • Impeccable organizational skills

  • A curious, proactive mind

  • Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction

  • Technical aptitude with audio recording and production equipment

  • Must be rising junior, rising senior or recently graduated senior (Class of 2022, 2023 or 2024)

Additional Information


  • Our Audio & Podcasts Summer Internship is a 10-week internship.

  • Interns will work 35 hours per week at a $17.39 hourly rate.

  • Candidates that are chosen to interview will be notified of their application status by March 15, 2022
