Position: Jr. Software Engineer
Locations: Carrollton TX HQ, can work remotely on hybrid schedule after initial onboarding
Travel: Up to 0-20%

As a software engineer working on the Tellabs Optical LAN product, you'll use your software design, analysis, programming and testing skills to enhance this exciting new networking product. You will resolve complex problems in a team environment utilizing the Agile software development process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work on assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires an understanding of a variety of factors.
- Employ problem-solving skills and display eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Assist with estimation of time and effort required to implement a project or assignment.
- Work individually or in a team.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or other related technical degree from an accredited university and 2 or more years’ industry related experience OR a Master’s degree.
Preferred Skills
- Prefer master’s degree with industry related internship or course projects
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language such as C++ or Java
- Ability to create test plans and implement code to satisfy those plans
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Familiarity with a software configuration management system such as ClearCase, SVN, or Git
