General Purpose:
This is an exciting opportunity for an associate to help shape and advance the firm’s approach to Sustainability, which can also be referred to as its approach to profits, planet, and people. In particular, the Associate will focus on how we can best use Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data to help analyze company performance and encourage best practice performance in these areas.

Sustainability Associate:
We seek an intellectually curious, analytical intern to help advance the firm’s approach to sustainability- especially in the investment process. The intern will work directly with the Head of Sustainability in the areas listed further below.
Candidates for this role should be excited about the intersection of sustainability and finance. Candidates may have some experience in capital markets, having performed (or assisted in the performance of) fundamental company analysis. You love to perform research and dig into data, and are willing to learn different platforms to access data and manipulate it in Excel. You are adept at communicating (in written and verbal formats) the key findings of your work, and you work well independently and in groups.
The Sustainability Associate will gain a much deeper understanding of ESG data and its financial implications. You will gain insights on best practices for integrating this data into investment decisions, understand how ESG may impact company valuations, communicate with company management teams, and learn about proxy voting and its role in sustainability. You’ll also further develop your presentation skills. Most importantly, you’ll play a role in using ESG to better outcomes for all corporate stakeholders- an exciting mission!
Sustainability Associate responsibilities include:
Together with the Head of Sustainability, the Sustainability Associate will:
· work collaboratively with members of the investment team to assess companies’ ESG performance
· participate in sustainability-oriented calls with company managements
· develop a resource center of best practices, case studies, performance studies, and other tools that will be helpful to our ESG integration goals
· implement operational execution of ESG across different platforms used by the firms (trading, research,
· keep abreast of key regulatory activity that drives sustainability trends
· write weekly updates of key activity in Sustainability
· coordinate, and contribute to, work across the firm’s Sustainability Committee
· monitor, perform and present portfolio-level ESG analysis of the firm’s main investment strategies
· analyze proxy voting data and trends
· provide ideas and input on how to best leverage different platforms to advance our work
Qualifications:
· BA/BS (degree or other exposure to business/finance a plus)
· Strong desire to gain exposure to sustainability and/or capital markets
· Strong mastery of Excel required, proficiency in Powerpoint and Word also important
· Experience, or desire to gain experience, in data analysis
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and in groups

· Salary range: Commensurate with experience, plus bonus and benefits
